Walker Bay® Boats Inc. is expanding its Genesis line to include three new center console RIBs (Console 340 FTD, Console 310 FTD, Console 310 FTL). Paul Roberts, VP of Sales & Marketing said, “Since the launch of the award winning Genesis line, consumers have been requesting a center console boat. To satisfy the runabout market, Walker Bay has developed the first fully integrated injection molded center console. The result is a sporty light weight boat that offers greater comfort, more storage and superior performance over any other small console RIB.” The Genesis Console can be purchased as a complete boat or as a modular retrofit system for the Genesis 340 and 310 models.
Designed For Space and Comfort
The Genesis RIB has a wider bow area and more overall internal space than any other RIB its size. Interior space is maximized further with the custom designed High Impact Marine Composite (HIMC) injection molded console. The ergonomic design provides the driver with more foot room, creating a more comfortable riding position and the integrated seat storage compartments make efficient use of space. The center console has two compartments, one designed to take a battery and the other for gear. The driver seat on the deluxe model has an integrated, hinged backrest and lifts to reveal two storage trays for small items, which can be removed to access two larger water resistant storage compartments underneath, one of which has a secure ventilated area designed to hold a 6-gallon gas tank in place. The deluxe model also features a bow seat with dry storage and cushions for bow, mid and rear seats, that stay in place when the seats are lifted, and do not shift when in use.
A Proven Performer with More to Offer
The award wining Genesis has a V-hull design with dynamic hull channels, integrated trim tabs and a V-Lift™ recess in the stern keel, which together improves water flow while optimizing planing performance and maneuverability at high speeds. The proprietary HIMC hull ensures a smooth solid ride that absorbs vibration and cuts easily through rough chop. Walker Bay sets themselves apart from off-the-shelf center console units with thoughtful design and complete integration. With the addition of integrated remote steering, the horsepower rating for the Genesis 340 is increased to 30 HP and the 310 is increased to 20 HP.
Classic Design Married with Innovative Features
The Genesis Console has been designed to compliment the lines of the Genesis RIB and offer more sophisticated options than generic consoles. Walker Bay has designed the innovative Quick-Clip™ system that locks the console into a designated place without any drilling. The top part of the console tilts for easy access during maintenance and provides quick entry to the battery and rear side of the dashboard. The sculpted polycarbonate windscreen protects the console and has a stainless steel handrail to hold on to when walking in and around the console. The dashboard has room for up to 3 dials and comes with a fiber reinforced composite steering helm and deluxe stainless steel steering wheel with rubber grip. The console accommodates either flush mount or side mount motor controls and the electrical kit comes with navigation lights, a stern light and a switch panel. The Genesis Console RIB has slatted flooring, which drains into a bilge, keeping water away from your feet. Another remarkable feature is the removable tube system. If a tube is damaged, a dealer may easily remove it and a new tube can be installed without glue, making repairs quick and easy.

The Genesis Console is also available for retrofit. Genesis console boats and console kits will be sold through existing authorized Genesis dealers beginning January 2008.
